2021 was another amazing vintage for McLaren Vale and yes we have delivered with this Cleanskin Shiraz once again!

The 2021 vintage delivered a respectable crop size and exemplary quality in our Shiraz blocks. With near perfect ripening conditions with mild temperature and cool nights the vines thrived. A rich juicy boysenberry nose with dried herb complexity and a hint of archetypal chocolate rounding out the full length of the palate with luxurious fine grain tannins to finish. Again like 2020 the small lick of new American oak adds precision to the palate weight.

Not only will you get 11 x btls of our 2021 Cleanskin Shiraz we are switching out the last bottle of your dozen with a once off Cleanskin 2018 Legacy Shiraz! About the 2018 Legacy Shiraz:
Everyone wants to be remembered for their best work, their sole purpose and the old vines are no different. The intense fruit from these vines on our Estate vineyard created an outstanding wine and a legacy to be proud of. The old Estate vines used to create this wine have produced a wonderful amount of depth and maturity in 2018 and it seemed only fair to reward that with the nurturing of the fruit in 50% seasoned French oak and 50% New French Oak for 28 months. Liquorice all-sorts bounce from the glass beautifully packaging an abundance of dark berry blackcurrant with underlying sweet Tabacco and dried herbs. Intense and proud! The depth of flavour on the palate is mature displaying a wonderful concentration of fruit imbedded in firm, fine dusty tannins, great length of flavour and an acid line to carry as this wine begins a wonderful new stage in secondary complexity.
