Name
‘Black Bay of Biscay Clay’ is the soil type on the land we call home. A highly sought-after soil that produces signature small berries, leading to a wonderful extraction of colour and in turn depth of flavour and structure. Hence the name of this wine ‘Black Bay’.
Vineyard
Our Black Bay vineyard is the epitome of what defines one of the greatest vineyards in Australia where the famous Black Bay of Biscay Clay soil ensures fantastic fruit.
Winery
In the winery the Black Bay Shiraz fruit is treated with utmost respect, ensuring quality from start to finish. Fermented slowly for gentle extraction of colour, flavour and tannin, the wine is monitored closely. Following fermentation, the wine is then matured in the finest of predominantly new and older American French oak barrels for 18 months.
